Description	:	Timothy J. Young, 57, was found to have unexpectedly died Monday evening, August 17, 2020, at his home in Tipton. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, at the First United Church of Christ, Tipton, with Pastor Kerri Sandusky officiating. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa. Timothy James Young was born October 22, 1962, in Davenport, the son of Martin James and Evelyn Edna (Moeller) Young. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1981. After graduation he moved to Texas and then to Minnesota, where he lived with his sister, Laurie, and worked in the wood shop with her husband Gary, where he developed his carpentry skills. He married Peggi Sue Peterick in Park Rapids, Minnesota and were later divorced. He built houses, campers and travel trailers. He moved back to Tipton, where he worked for Troy’s Lawn and Landscape. He enjoyed bass fishing, camping, grilling out and being with friends. He was a great dad and brother, a good hearted, caring man that would do anything for anybody and never turn away a hungry soul that showed up while he was grilling at the campground. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his grandson, Jaxson. Surviving are two sons, Zachary James (Jessica) Young of Tipton and Dalton Martin (Katie) Young of Hakensack, MN; one grandson, Jaxson James Young; his mother, Evelyn Sterner of Tipton; one sister, Laurie Smith of Benedict, MN; two brothers, David (Faye) Young and Michael (Rhonda) Young, both of Tipton; three step-sisters, Stephanie Herrington of Davenport, Shawn Sterner of Iowa City and Shelly Sterner of Moline, IL; two step-brothers, Steve Sterner and Lee Sterner, both of Tipton; and his former wife, Peggi Nelson of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his father, his step-father, Dale Sterner, one sister, Cindy Schnede, one brother, Jerry Young and one step-sister, Susan Sterner. Fry Funeral Home
