He lived on a farm at Winchester, Scott County, Illinois, the town where he married Ann Collins on May 24, 1857. Read More	aged 73y 6m 21d Civil War Timothy was born February 20, 1832 in a small village of Lorum, County Carlow, Ireland and died September 20, 1905 in Parnell, Kansas. He lived on a farm at Winchester, Scott County, Illinois, the town where he married Ann Collins on May 24, 1857. Timothy and Ann McAsey, and son John P, came to Atchison (from Winchester Illinois) by steamboat March 20th, 1860. They made their home on R Street between 4th and 5th for 8 years. Timothy McAsey was also a Civil War veteran and was wounded in the battle of Prairie Grove, Ark. He was in Company "K" 13th Regiment, Kansas Volunteers Union Army August 22,1862. They moved April 14, 1868 to a farm in Parnell, Kansas. As a building contractor, he helped construct St. Benedict's Church, in Atchison being among the original "founders" of the church. The church celebrated it 100th anniversary in 1966. Mary McAsey Murphy is a sister of Timothy. They are the children of Patrick and Bridget (Hennessy) McAsey. John Andrew McAsey is an older brother, b.Aug 1827 d.1890 in Ireland. Timothy McAsey died of paralysis at the age of 75 years. He lived two miles west of Parnell. The funeral was a very large one. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery, Thursday. The Atchison Daily Champion ~ September 22, 1905
