Tim was born on October 22, 1948 at Yankton, the third child of eleven to LeRoy and Phyllis Olesen. Tim served in the United States Marines from November of 1965 to October of 1969. He served his country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 and was then honorably discharged. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1972, was wounded and honorably discharged in 1973. He married Kathy Sherard on April 25, 1976. Two children were born to this union, Candace and Christopher Olesen. He was preceded in death by his daughter Candace and his father LeRoy. Tim is survived by his son Christopher Olesen and grandson Dominique Vice of Maryland; his mother Phyllis Olesen of Yankton; 5 brothers, Mark (Mary) of Yankton, Garland (Michele) of Sioux Falls, Burnell (Mary) of Hurley, David of Hurley and LeRoy, Jr. (Kim Johnson) of Parker; 5 sisters, Mary (Rodger) Wenzlaff of Yankton, Blanche (Allen) Vannorsdel of Viborg. Peggy (Dave) Martin of Waupaca, WI, Bonnie (Dave) Hubbs of Yankton, and Brenda Olesen (Dan) Hauser of Mitchell; and a host of nephews and nieces. link to father from Lori (#48695480)
