Description	:	Tjeerd is the son of Jan Tjeerds & Pietje Sjoerds (Dijkstra) Goslinga. Tjeerd emigrated to America around 1893 and initially worked as a farm laborer. He married Klasske "Clara" Dykstra on February 28, 1906 in Sioux County, Iowa. They farmed one mile south of Orange City until 1944, when the massive tornadoes of the summer of that year destroyed much of their buildings. October 18, 2007 ******** Sioux County Capital; May 10, 1951 TJEERD GOSLINGA Death came to Tjeerd Goslinga 79, at Grossmann hospital on May 3. He had been ailing for a year and a half and finally succumbed to asthma and dropsy. Funeral services were held in the First Christian Reformed Church. Burial was in Nassau township cemetery. Mr Goslinga was born in Arum, Friesland, December 27, 1871 He came to America when he was 21. In 1906 he was married to Clara Dykstra of Orange City She survives him with seven children, Susie, Mrs. W. Van Velzen of Sioux Center, John, Marie, Mrs K. Jongma of Hospers, Tillie, Mrs. J. W. Bruins of Long Beach, Calif., Theodore of Pease, Minn., George, Henry, and 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three children, two in infancy and Tena who was 8, his parents, his sisters Mrs. Susie Van Heslinga of the Netherlands, Mrs. Maria Rypma of Hospers and a brother, Sjoerd of Alton. He was the last of his family.
