Description	:	Tobias A, Jantz, the oldest pioneer resident of Halstead, died after a long illness, at his home in Halstead, Saturday morning. He had resided in Kansas since 1874, and was 97 years old. Born Dec. 2 1854 in Antanafka, Poland, Mr. Jantz was one of the oldest pioneer settlers in Harvey County. Read More	Tobias A, Jantz, the oldest pioneer resident of Halstead, died after a long illness, at his home in Halstead, Saturday morning. He had resided in Kansas since 1874, and was 97 years old. Born Dec. 2 1854 in Antanafka, Poland, Mr. Jantz was one of the oldest pioneer settlers in Harvey County. He married the forner Elizabeth Buller of Newton, on Oct. 7, 1887. Mrs. Jantz passed away on July 6, 1951, Mr. Jantz was a member of the Grace Mennonite Church. He is survived by three sons, Pete, Henry, and Adolph Johnson, all of Halstead; and four daughters, Emma, Carrie, Lenna, and Eda johnson, also, all of Halstead. Many members of the Jantz family took the name of Johnson. Three brothers also survive. They are John J., Jacob J., and Elias Johnson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in the Grace Mennonite Church, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot at the Halstead Cemetery. The Kaufman Funeral Home of Halstead is in charge of arrangements.
