Description	:	Tolbert married Hortensia (Tansey) Leinhauser on March 1, 1892, in Des Moines, Iowa. They had two children, a daughter Elizabeth, who died at the age of four, and a son Carl. A few years after their marriage, Tolbert and Tansey moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he worked for the Western Union Telegraph Company. After Tansey's death, Tolbert married Alice Colhaff on May 7, 1905, in Chicago, Illinois. Alice died on April 29, 1939, in Portland, Oregon. At this time, I do not know where she is buried. It also appears that Tolbert is buried in an unmarked grave in the Calvary Cemetery. The area is which he is buried is not in the Leinhauser plot where Hortensia and Elizabeth are buried. The cemetery's records do not show that a gravestone was set for Tolbert, and I have walked through the section several times and not been able to find one. Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," June 21, 1958: Tolbert Dimmitt, about 90, a former Ottumwan, died Tuesday in Portland, Ore. He was born in Wapello County, the son of Beniah and Elizabeth Dimmitt. He had lived in Oregon over 50 years. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Madeline Dimmitt and two grandsons, Jack Dimmitt and Carl P. Dimmitt, Jr. all of Chicago and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Evelyn Kriba of Berwyn, Ill. The body will be returned to the Jay Funeral Home Sunday. Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Calvary cemetery in charge of the Rev. John F. Hynes of the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
