Grosfield, 83, who died Friday at the home of his nephew, Byron Grosfield, in Sweet Grass Canyon. Services were conducted by Rev. E. E. Tollefson. Music was furnished by Mrs. A. R. McDonnell who sang two solos accompanied by E. O. Overland at the organ. Pallbearers were Reider Anderson, Kermit Anderson, Lloyd Rein, Knute Lavold, Peter Riveland, and J. G. Johnson. The deceased was born in Norway, March 25, 1869. He emigrated to Halstad, Minn., at the age of seventeen. As a young man, he worked on the large farms in the Red River valley. One of his favorite stories was about driving four mules hitched to a grain separator through the streets of Fargo, N. D. In 1928, he moved to Big Timber with his brother, A. E. Grosfield. During the past ten years, he spent the major part of his time at the ranch of Mr. and Mrs. Leif Anderson. He died at the home of his nephew following a short illness. Death was attributed to infirmities of old age and a heart condition. Surviving him is a brother, A. E. Grosfield of Melville, two nieces, Mrs. Leif Anderson of Melville and Mrs. Wm. Thornby of Bozeman and a nephew Bryon Grosfield, Melville. Other relatives reside in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Oregon. Two nieces from Shelly, Min., Mrs. Lennie Orvik and Mrs. Arne Algaard, attended the services. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Contributor: Julia Kinsey (48922386) •
