Description	:	Wenatchee World - Dec. 23, 2008 Tom Monesmith passed away in Denver, CO on December 12, 2008. He was born in Wenatchee, WA on January 20, 1927, to Laura (Branin) and Gus Monesmith. He served four years in the US Navy in the South Pacific Islands. He married Rita Duquette in November 1947, and had three children, Tina, Pamela and Joseph. He later married Delores Hayes in August 1966, in Carson City, NV. He traveled to several locations doing telephone construction. He retired in 1980. He was a business agent for the Laborers' Union. He was born in Wenatchee, WA on January 20, 1927, to Laura (Branin) and Gus Monesmith. He served four years in the US Navy in the South Pacific Islands. He married Rita Duquette in November 1947, and had three children, Tina, Pamela and Joseph. He later married Delores Hayes in August 1966, in Carson City, NV. He traveled to several locations doing telephone construction. He retired in 1980. He was a business agent for the Laborers' Union. He went on to be a driller and blaster for Jerry Curry Construction and helped to open the roads after the Mount St. Helen's eruption. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he like to collect guns. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and his brothers-in-law, Lee Travis and Clarence Reeves. He is survived by his wife, Delores of Rocky Ford; his children, Tina (Mory) Sachsenmaier of Snohomish, WA, Pamela Kursave, Joe Monesmith and Billie Elms (Paul Volkeman) all of Wenatchee, Jim Breashears and Terri Monesmith of Hayden, ID and Florence (Harry) Churchill of Demarest, GA; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Mildred Travis, Marion (Byron) Gossman and Nell Reeves, all of Wenatchee. Graveside Services will be held in the spring, 2009. Donations may be made in his name to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.
