Description	:	His wife Kathleen reported that lived fast and spent money equally as fast but died not owing any man. His first venture away from home was for a trucking business in Alexandria, Virginia. He helped build the Mt. Vernon Highway and helped get President Hoover's car out of the mud when it got stuck there. He returned to the farm and lost his right arm in a 1938 accident. He delivered the Richmond Times Dispatch for thirty-eight years. His hobbies were golf and baseball, then later, card playing - inheriting some of his ancestor's traits. He also enjoyed new cars. His wife stated she probably drove more new cars than any poor person in the state of Virginia. He served as treasurer of Gravel Hill church, was President of the Tobacco Board of Trade for the Clarksville Market. He died outside of town hall on Main Street in Clarksville.
