Read More	The Harlan Tribune (Harlan, Iowa) – Friday 26 Aug 1960 LIFE STORY OF THERESA GOESER, 83 Theresa Goeser was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schulte, October 15, 1876 in Westphalin, Germany and died Friday, July 29, 1960 at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 17 days. Mrs. Goeser came with her parents from Germany when she was 15 and settled at Westphalia, Iowa. In 1897 she was married to Peter Goeser in St. Boniface Church in Westphalia and to this union five sons were born. Her husband died in 1911 and son Hubert in 1954. Survivors are her four sons, Frank, Bruno and Zeno of Defiance, Iowa and Alvin of Omaha, Nebraska; brother, Pete Schulte of Panama, Iowa; 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. For thirty years after her marriage Mrs. Goeser operated a general store, cream station and Post Office in Westphalia. She retired in Defiance which was her home until her death. During retirement her hobby was flowers. She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the Altar Society of St. Peter's Church. Funeral services were held Monday morning, August 1, 1960 in St. Peter's Church in Defiance with the Rev. P. J. McStay officiating. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Peter Goeser, Edward Goeser, Francis Goeser, Leo Goeser, John Goeser and James Goeser. She was buried in St. Boniface Cemetery at Westphalia, Iowa.
