Read More	Tress Merwin Powell 29 Feb 1884 – 18 Nov 1975 Tress Powell Burial Friday Services were held last week for well-known Harrison resident Tress M. Powell, who died Nov. 18 at the age of 91. He was born in Knoxville, Ill., on Feb. 29, 1884 to Ion Lotts and John Powell. His parents moved to Elk Creek, Nebr., when he was six weeks old. He grew up there and in 1906 moved to Harrison. For three years he worked as a cowboy and then worked for Unitt Hardware for ten years. On Sept. 19,1919 he purchased Beiser Hardware and was associated wit the firm until his death. On Aug. 21, 1911 he was married to Ethelyn Collamore in a double ceremony with Mac and Karma McClary at Hot Springs, S. D. To this union were born three children, Georgia, Bill and Arlene. Mr. Powell was a member of the United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Sioux Masonic Lodge #277 for 65 years. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Omaha and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a charter member of the Harrison Community Club and served on the Sioux County Fair Board and on both town and school boards. He is survived by his three children, Miss Georgia Powell, of Harrison, and Bill Powell and family and Arlene Farnum of Tamworth, N. H. Seven grandchildren also survive him, John Powell and Jodi Powell, both from Laramie, Wyo., Mrs. Donna Bernhard, Vermillion, S. D., Jane Beard, Kirkland, Wash., Ann Lambert, Erie, Colo., Walt Farnum, Harrison, and Will Farnum, Tamworth, N. H. Also, four sisters, Mrs. Mary Cope, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Hazel Fowler, Cheyenne, Wyo., Gladys Pyle, Sidney, Nebr., and Mabel Ford, Glen Rock, Wyo., and many nieces and nephews. Services were held Friday, Nov. 21 in the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Wayne Tieszen officiated in a Masonic service. Burial was in the Harrison cemetery.
