Description	:	THOLE, TRIENTJA MARGARETA TENA—Tena M. Thole, 85, was born near Bloomington on October 16, 1920, to Harm U. Bienhoff and Emma K Burns Bienhoff. She departed this life on April 30, 2006, at Heritage Crossings Nursing Home in Geneva. She was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Macon. She went to school through the eighth grade, and then worked at various jobs in the area. Tena married Harry C. Schmidt, on October 30, 1952. They farmed and lived near Inavale. She was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Macon. She went to school through the eighth grade, and then worked at various jobs in the area. Tena married Harry C. Schmidt, on October 30, 1952. They farmed and lived near Inavale. Harry passed away April 9, 1973. Tena then moved to Franklin, where she worked from 1974-1975 at the Franklin County Hospital in laundry. Tena met and married Dale Thole in 1976. They lived in Geneva where Tena did laundry at the Fillmore County Hospital from 1977 until she retired. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and Legion Auxiliary of Geneva; and also a member of the United Church of Christ of Geneva. She liked to work outside in her garden, and when on the farm, she raised chickens for eggs and also to butcher. Tena was always making everyone laugh, especially at Christmas gatherings or other family gatherings. When things would get quiet, she would go to a corner or another room where she would crow like a rooster, or she would come out with this little saying: “Chew tobacco, Chew tobacco, Spit, Spit, Spit. Let’s all have a chew, and have a spittin’ Fit.” Tena was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, two brothers, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and three nephews. She is survived by her husband, Dale; two brothers, Henry Bienhoff and Ehme Bienhoff; two sisters, Anna Rust and Ricka Thole; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva on Thursday, May 4, with Rev. Lynn Strandt officiating. Nancy Cradduck accompanied Delwin Myers who sang “In the Garden” and the congregation, who sang “The Old Rugged Cross”. Casket bearers were Herb Stoldorf, Brian Cellar, Dale Stengel, George Engle, Glenn Roesler and Everett Renken. The VFW Auxiliary provided a ritual at the cemetery.
