Thole was born to Fred & Hendricka (Rickles) Thole on March 30, 1922, at Martland, Nebraska, and passed away November 5, 2011 at The Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 5 days. Thole was born to Fred & Hendricka (Rickles) Thole on March 30, 1922, at Martland, Nebraska, and passed away November 5, 2011 at The Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 5 days. He was one of two children in the family. Dale was a lifelong resident of Fillmore County. He graduated from Geneva High School with his GAED. He worked for West Brothers for many years. Dale was proud of his carpentry employment. Projects he worked on in his 36.5 years with West Brothers included the building of Shickley Public School, the Geneva High School Gymnasium, and the Heritage Crossings Nursing Home. After retirement, Dale continued to be active with the upkeep of the Fillmore County Fairgrounds for 18 years. Dale was married to Tena Beinhoff of Riverton, Nebraska on November 19, 1976. Dale and his wife Tena were dedicated to their community by assisting with Bingo for the VFW and they were active in their church. Dale will also always be remembered for presenting and raising the flag for home highschool football games in Geneva for many years. Dale was a lifetime member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva. He also continued to support and be active in the Geneva VFW Samuel J. Marsh Post 7102 and the Geneva American Legion Sloan-Bolton Post 68. Dale proudly served his country from October 1942 to December 1945 in World War II in the 94th Chemical Warfare Unit. Dale is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Hendricka Thole; wife Tena; and brother & sister-in-law Del & Ricka Thole.
