A funeral service will be held at Johnson Chapel on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 3PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2PM. Mr. Jacobs was born on September 20, 1939 in Georgetown to the late Troy Clifford Jacobs and the late Margie Powers Jacobs. He was a devoted member of Johnson Chapel Church and loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Jacobs retired as a Master Sergeant from the South Carolina Army National Guard after 42 years of service. He worked for R.C. Jacobs as an industrial welder. Mr. Jacobs was a wonderful gardener who had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He loved spending time with his friends and family, most especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa Jacobs of Georgetown, Amy Jacobs Vargas and her husband Junior of Georgetown; a son, Lavern Jacobs, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Georgetown; nine grandchildren, Dustin Dickerson, Cody Medina and his wife Sarah, Tripp Jacobs, Brooke Dickerson, Savannah Velasco, Damian Vargas, Hailey Vargas, Alex Vargas, Laila Vargas; one great grandchild, Bryce Dickerson; one brother, Duwayne Jacobs and his wife Silvia of Moncks Corner; one sister-in-law, Judy Jacobs of Georgetown. Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Jacobs. Arrangements entrusted to Graham Funeral Home.
