Pate, formerly a resident of this city, died very suddenly on the 17th inst. in St. Louis where he had been living for nearly two years. His wife, formerly Miss Bertha Grooms of this city, who with her baby boy was visiting her parents here, is prostrate with grief over this sudden and unexpected shock. Particulars as to his death are not obtainable at this time. The remains will be brought to this city for burial, reaching here at noon tomorrow. The hour of the funeral will be announced later.
