The obituary appears in our next issues. ========================== The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE), Friday, October 23, 1925; pg. 1 Truman R. DeLong, son of John and Katherine DeLong, was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, May 12, 1847. He died at the home of his daughter Mrs. W.F. Hayes in Edgar, Nebraska, October 11, 1925, at the age of 78 years, 4 months, and 29 days. He had three brothers, one sister, and two half-brothers, all of whom preceded him to the great beyond. March 9, 1871, at Murrayville, Illinois, he was united in marriage with Mary Jane Johnson. To this union were born three daughters: Mrs. W.F. Hayes of Edgar, Nebr.; Mrs. C.A. Ferebee of Halliday, No. Dak.; and Luella who died in infancy. Mrs. DeLong answered the call February 25, 1917. Mr. DeLong moved to Nebraska in 1877, and has lived in Edgar and vicinity ever since, except eleven years, from 1908 to 1919, which were spent in Dunn County, North Dakota. He was a firm believer in the triune God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and the wonderful possibilities afforded mankind here in life. Early in life he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church. Later, with the Evangelical Church in Angus, and still later, with the Presbyterian Church in Warner. He was a great sufferer for years, but "though the outward man was pershing, yet the inward man was renewed day by day."
