Description	:	Hooper Sentinel July 25, 1957 Graveside Services Held at Swaburg for Tura Bowman Graveside services for Tura Bowman of Alliance, formerly of this area were held at the Baptist Cemetery in Swaburg Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in the family plot. Rites were held in the Fred Harler Chapel in Fremont conducted by Assistant Pastor Ray Harper of the Christian Church. Miss Ruth Stromberg was organist for the service. Pallbearers were Ivar Anderson, Roy Larson and four nephews, Martin Leifert of Oakland, Stanley Johnson of Fremont, Julian Lindgren and Melvin Bowman. Mr. Bowman, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bowman, pioneers of the Uehling area, was born on a farm January 17, 1876, and died at the age of 81 years, five months and 17 days. He was a retired carpenter and had lived in Uehling, Fremont and the past 28 years in Alliance, where his death occurred on Friday, July 14th, following a lingering illness. Mr. Bowman was married to Miss Hattie Johnson of the Swaburg area January 14, 1903, at Fremont. Surviving him besides his widow are one daughter, Mrs. Wilson Krenzer (Caroline) of Pacoima, Calif., and one son, Richard of Alliance; two brothers, Andrew and Arthur Bowman of Uehling; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Albert, and an only sister, Sadie, Mrs. Charles W. Lindgren.
