Deceased was born in the state of Maryland in the year 1802. Eleven years later he went with his parents to Ohio where he resided until 1867 when he moved to Iowa locating near Brooklyn where he resided until death. Read More	DEATH OF VACHEL BALL Died, at the home of his son, G.M. Ball, in north Brooklyn, Friday, Dec. 6, 1895, of complications, Vachel Ball, in the 94th year of his age. Deceased was born in the state of Maryland in the year 1802. Eleven years later he went with his parents to Ohio where he resided until 1867 when he moved to Iowa locating near Brooklyn where he resided until death. During his residence in Ohio he was married to Miss Fannie Bailey and for nearly sixty years they walked side by side through life. The joys and sorrows, the hopes and fears, the success and failures of more than half a century only cemented their lives, and their declining years were crowned with the knowledge of having performed every duty as dictated by conscience and the promise of a blessed heritage in the home beyond the grave. This union was blessed by twelve children ten of whom survive to mourn the loss of father. Deceased united with the M.E. church about seventy years ago, has always lived an earnest christian life, and remained a faithful member of the church of his choice until the close of his life. He has been in poor health for some time and was taken worse on Tuesday, Dec. 3d, and owing to his advanced age gradually declined until the end came last Friday night and he passed into blessed sleep with the Saviour whom he had trusted so many years. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.W. Lambert, after which the remains were laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
