Description	:	James Kubalek Jr., 24 years old, took his own life by hanging Monday morning at his home in the Fee Chapel neighborhood in Carroll township, south of Traer. He had gone to work in the harvest field with a neighbor as usual Monday but went back to the house about 10 o'clock. His parents, who live a few miles distant, drove to the farm to take him his dinner shortly before noon, and they found his body hanging in the driveway of a double corn crib. He had gone to work in the harvest field with a neighbor as usual Monday but went back to the house about 10 o'clock. His parents, who live a few miles distant, drove to the farm to take him his dinner shortly before noon, and they found his body hanging in the driveway of a double corn crib. It is thought he had been dead about half an hour. Sheriff E. O. Harris, of Toledo, and Coroner E. J. Miller, of Garwin, were called to investigate the death, but they decided it was a plain case of suicide and that no inquest was necessary. No motive has been advanced for the act. It is said that Kubalek had no financial troubles, no serious love affairs, or other worries which should have caused him to desire to end his own life. He lived alone on the John Zmolek farm, of which he has been the tenant the last two or three years. He is known to have worked all day in the fields on Sunday, and one theory held by relatives is that he may have become temporarily deranged by the extreme heat. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kubalek Sr., the young man leaves six sisters and three brothers. These are Mrs. Ben Francl, of Antigo, Wisconsin; Mrs. L. R. Simanovsky, Mrs. Joe Pelisek, Mrs. .J. L. Drahos and Miss Blanche Kubalek, all of Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Ed Dvorak and Frank, Joe and George Kubalek, all living near Clutier. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Frank Kubalek home and at Holy Trinity church, with the Rev. Father Thom as Vopatek, of Clutier, in charge.
