Read More	FARM BOY IS KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT Death from an automobile accident when the car is running up hill upon a smooth road at moderate speed seems unbelievable, but it occurred last Friday afternoon when a son of James Hala, a well-known farmer living seven miles northeast of Toledo, was almost instantly killed. He was twelve years old. In company with his brother Frank, eighteen years old, he was returning from Chelsea with a couple of sacks of flour. Both were in the front seat. Frank was driving the car, a Ford. When a mile from home, as the car was ascending a hill upon a good road a rear wheel went down, the driver lost control, the car turned over once or twice and landed upside down with the front pointing nearly the opposite direction from which it had been running. The driver was not hurt, but his brother was fatally injured, having been hit upon the head and face with great force. He was beneath a rear door when found by the older brother, not pinned fast, in fact was easily pulled out. The fatal blows had come some way in the overturning of the car. The surviving brother can give little light upon the accident. It was all done so quickly he does not realize much about it except the sad termination and does not want to talk about it. He says he felt the rear of the car sag but does not know what followed. A neighbor, Mr. Wobeter, soon came along. He aided in getting the boy from under the car. Life was still in evidence. In fact, the boy was able to move a little, but he did not speak and in a few minutes was lifeless. A Toledo physician was railed at once but, nothing could be done. Both rear w heels of the car were mashed. Every spoke of one was broken close to the axle and half the spokes of the other. The side boards and fenders were badly twisted and bent, showing they had h it the ground in the overturning. Mr. and Mrs. Hala, the afflicted parents, have lived in central Tama many years and are known all through that section. They have eleven children remaining Two daughters, Mrs. James Konicek, four miles east of Clutier, and Mrs. Lew Zmolek, one mile north of the County Home, are married. All the others are single. Mrs. Hala Is a sister of Anton Kucera, eight miles south of Traer. The funeral was held a t the Salacek church at 10 a. m. Monday and drew a large assemblage of people.
