Zavadil of Wilber officiating Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemtery. James Vrbsky was born in Czechoslovakia, May 24, 1866, and passed away at the Friend hospital on Jan. 19, 1948, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 25 days. James Vrbsky was born in Czechoslovakia, May 24, 1866, and passed away at the Friend hospital on Jan. 19, 1948, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 25 days. He came to the United States with his parents when 12 years old in 1878. The family settled on a farm in Lancaster county, near Kramer. He stayed on the farm with his parents helping with the work until his marriage. He married Miss Antonie Dvorak on Oct. 23, 1894 and they settled on a farm in Saline County where they lived until 1919 when they retired and moved to Crete. They had eight children, three of whom died in infancy. Five children mourn the passing of a kind father; three daughters, Mrs. Albie Babst of Geneva, Mrs. Bessie Kozlik of Crete; Mrs. Olga Houdersheldt of Wayne; two sons, Henry J., of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ernest R. of Seward; two brothers, Jerry and Adolf; and one sister, Mrs. Antonie Sipek, all of Crete; and 8 grandchildren. Those who preceded him in death were his wife; parents, two sons, one daughter, three brothers, and two sisters. Mrs. George Kersenbrock sang accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Karl Nedela.
