Read More	Obituary From The Ottumwa Courier, May 22, 2014: OTTUMWA — VaDonna Marie Dial, 81, of 9451 83rd St., died May 21, 2014, at her home. She was born August 21, 1932, in Ottumwa to Kermit Charles and Winnie Campbell Fullmer. She married Glen Dial on March 31, 1952, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1950, she had worked at St. Joseph Hospital while in high school. She worked at John Morrell & Co. VaDonna drove a dump truck along with her husband in their business, Glen Dial & Son Construction. She and her husband operated a fruit stand on Vine St. and she had delivered the Ottumwa Courier on the rural route. VaDonna was a member of Christiansburg United Methodist Church and of United Methodist Women. She had been a 4-H leader, a member of the PTA, a volunteer for the Wapello County Historical Museum and a member of the Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, baking, Bingo, bowling, mushroom hunting, ceramics, displaying more than 50 Christmas trees and watching movies, including "Pretty Woman" and "Gone with the Wind." VaDonna had a very elaborate hat collection, hosted an annual Christmas Cookie Party and had many winning entries at the county and state fairs, winning more than 1,000 ribbons. Surviving are her husband, Glen; four children, Glenda (Gene) Burrows of Bloomfield, Becky (Dan) Bodkins of Bloomfield, Carleton Dial of Ottumwa and Linda Sue (Pat) Shehan of Ottumwa; a former son-in-law, Verlin Holzhauser; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Fritz) Runnells, Crystal (Brad) Fisher, Jean (Nathan) Burchett, Lynn Burrows, Gayle Burrows-Bircher, Jesse Burrows, Jason Burrows, Theresa (Phil) Bargfrede and Melissa Holzhauser; four stepgrandchildren, Brenda (Ed) Meester, Joanna (Tim) Sarver, Patricia (Scott) Johnson, Tim (Whitney) Shehan; nine great-grandchildren, Tristan, Jaydee, Xavier, James, Jarett, Carter, Cole, Sterling, Autumn; eight stepgreat-grandchildren, Chase, Kylie, Emma, Ben, Xander, Slade, Dylan and Alex; a brother, Varrell (Nancy) Fullmer; a sister, Jackie (Dick) Moore; a sister-in-law, Sis (Jim Marshall) Fullmer. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joan Sloan; two brothers, Vincent Fullmer and stillborn Vernon Fullmer; a great-granddaughter, Brystol Runnells; and a stepgreat-granddaughter, Erica Sarver. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with her grandson-in-law, Phil Bargfrede, officiating. Burial will be in Round Point Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Monday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Wapello and Davis Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
