Description	:	COUSINS, VALBORG –Valborg Langseth Cousins was born on March 19, 1903, in Minnesota to Peder and Karen Johnsen Langseth. She died on October 15, 1984, at Topeka, Ks., where she resided in the Veterans Home. She attained the age of 81 years, six months and 26 days. Because her father served as a Lutheran minister, the family lived in several towns in South Dakota and Nebraska. She graduated from Hazard High School. Read More	COUSINS, VALBORG –Valborg Langseth Cousins was born on March 19, 1903, in Minnesota to Peder and Karen Johnsen Langseth. She died on October 15, 1984, at Topeka, Ks., where she resided in the Veterans Home. She attained the age of 81 years, six months and 26 days. Because her father served as a Lutheran minister, the family lived in several towns in South Dakota and Nebraska. She graduated from Hazard High School. Valborg devoted her life to serving others through a nursing career. She received her training from the Nicholas Senn Hospital in Omaha. Later, while nursing in the Chicago area, she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree from North Western University. In 1942, she graduated from the Florence Crittenden Hospital in Detroit with a degree in anesthesiology. Shortly after, she served for two years as a first lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. She was stationed at Fort George Wright in Spokane, Wa. Valborg was united in marriage to James H. Cousins of Grand Island. Her diaries are a legacy of poems, prayers, musical programs and church services which tell all who knew her of her love of God and His creativity. The memory of her smile, her generosity and devotion to others remain in the hearts of her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, her brother, Fredrik Langseth, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Heath Langseth. She leaves to mourn many friends. Graveside services were held October 17, with the Rev. Donald F. Marsh officiating. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal October 25th, 1984 page 5.
