This Valentine Chastain had a son Valentine (1808-1866). You can find this son on the 1850 Scott County, Indiana census living next to several of his Chastain and Robbins family members. Valentine (1808-1866) is listed on it with his wife Martha "Massa" Robbins (1808-1883) and had 10 children that you can see on the 1850 and the 1860 Scott County Census records. Several of their children married Starks, as my direct line did. I DNA link with several of this line of Chastain's line and have been researching them for >25 year including trips to Scott County. After Valentine died in 1866, Massey stayed in Scott County and eventually moved in with one of her daughters. I have yet to find this Valentine's grave. I should mention I've DNA linked to this Valentine's other children's descendants as well as his siblings lines.The child Matilda on this memorial is not this Valentine's daughter, but was his granddaughter. Mary would have been 62 at the time of her birth had this been correct. Matilda was the younger sister of my direct line ancestor Mahala (Chastain) Stark. Please see 1850 (Jennings Twp)Scott County, Indiana Census (page 31). I posted this due to all the confusion about the 1808-1866 Valentine that has come about. Please don't rely solely on FAG alone for you ancestry research. It's a wonderful source and the people entering all the information are saints, but many times, as in the Chastain line, it is extremely large an confusing. Read less
