Description	:	Fatally Injured in Auto Wreck Mr. Valentine Hensley, aged 77, of near Midway, was fatally injured yesterday morning in an automobile accident near Mohawk. According to Kenneth Jenkins, driver of the car, Mr. Hensley after coming from the yard at the home of Sam Arnett, one mile east of Mohawk, suddenly darted into the road, staggering in front of his car. Mr. Hensley suffered a broken neck and a fracture of the skull and was dead when removed from the road. Sheriff D. D. Pruitt and Deputy Sheriff Howard Self, with the coroner Mr. J. L. Woody who investigated the case said that the accident was unavoidable. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at Gathsemane. The Rev. Franco Hensley will officiate. He is survived by four daugthers, Mrs G.W. Belt, Mrs. Clayton Metcalf, Mrs J. F. Metcalf and Mrs Robert Massengill, three sons Alger, Clyde and Jess Hensley, the latter who is overseas and one sister, Mrs. Jane Gentry ------------------------------------------------ Valentine is the son of Alexander Shelton, but when his mother divorced she went back to her maiden name of Hensley and some of her children used the surname Hensley or Shelton-Hensley. He first married Laura Cook (Oct 14, 1909 Greene County TN) with whom he had several children. Later, (Feb 7, 1930 Greene County TN) he married Lydia Norton Metcalf (it was her 2nd marriage as well, after having several children with 1st husband, David Metcalf)
