Read More	Obit Sabula Man Passes Away At Iowa City, Hospital Valette D. Van Wormer, of this City, Dies Monday Afternoon, After an operation. Funeral to he held Her Tommorrow Valette D. Van Wormer , of this city, who went to the University Hospital in Iowa City, about two weeks ago for relief from a serious illinesswhich has troubled him for some time, passed away shortly after noon Monday. Mr. Van Wormer had been in poor Health for over a year but had been able to be up and around and at work a large part of that time. Recentley his condition became so serious that he entered the hospital in the hopes of learning just exactly the nature of his aliment and of finding help for it. Saturday and operation discoverd the fact that he was suffering from cancers of the stomach and intestines and the he was beyond mortal aid. In response to a telegram his brother in law, Chas. Loving and Fred E. Bekley, went to Iowa City and spent Monday morning at his bedside, being with him until shortly before the end came. The remains were brought to Sabula to the home of his sister Mrs Chas. Loving last evening and funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, with Rev. Wm B. Phelps officiating . Internment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery, the Odd Fellows's burial service to be conducted at the grave. Valette D. Van Wormer was born at Lynxville, Wis., on Februray 2, 1874 , and was 49 years and ten days old at the time of his death. The first eighteen years os his life were spent in Wisconsin and from then on until he came to Sabula about four years ago. , he lived in the west. He was married when a young man but his wife passed away about sixteen years ago. The only surviving relatives are two sisters : Mrs Chas Loving of this City , and Mrs. Maggie Michaels, of Quimby, Iowa. During his few years residence in Sabula Mr. Van Wormer made a great many friends, being a man of friendly disposition and clean havits he won the esteem and respect of all. He signified his interest in our city becoming a member fo the Odd Fellows, Rebekahs and Knight's of Pythias and took a great interest in fraternal affairs. The bereaved sisters have the sympanthy of all in their bereavement .
