Varian Bryce Kincaid, youngest child of the late George L. and Martha Cross Kincaid, was born in Sardinia, Ohio September 6th, 1894, and passed away in Clearwater, Florida October 20th 1958, at the age of 64 years, one month and fourteen days. His boyhood was spent in the town of his birth where he attended the Public school and graduated with the class of 1911. Later he completed a Commercial Course in Cincinnati. In December 1917 he enlisted in the Armed Forces and served with the Army for 18 months in France. A part of this time was with the American Expeditionary Force. At the close of the war he was honorably discharged with the rating of Sergeant First Class. Later he became associated with the National Veterans Administration and for many years served in the capacity of Treasurer. While in this service he was given the rank of Major. His integrity, consideration and high standards of dealing with his fellowmen won for him many friends in the various places where he served the Administration. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of Sardinia Lodge No. 254 F. & A.M., Shrine, Scottish Rite, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by one brother, P. R. Kincaid of Sardinia, a niece; Mrs. Arthur Theilan of Cincinnati and a number of other relatives and friends. Published in the News Democrat, Georgetown, OH, Nov. 13, 1958.
