Read More	Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Sep 27, 1929 - Pg 1 Velda La Verle Spurling Coffman, daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Spurling, was born near Edgar, Nebraska, June 6, 1910 and died on September 20, 1929, at the age of 19 years, 3 months and 14 days. Two years ago she confessed Christ as her Saviour and united with the Methodist Church of Edgar. She grew to womanhood in her childhood home. Her kind disposition and cheery smile endeared her to all who knew her. After her marriage to Wilber Marion Coffman, she remained in the parental home until her death. She leaves to mourn her home going; her husband, Wilber Marion Coffman; her father and mother, one sister, Mrs. Vernon Jacobs of Edgar; two brothers Orin of Edgar and Clarence of Pueblo, Colorado and a host of other relatives and friends. This death, the thought of which turns us so cold, Outside of our own fears has no stronghold; "Tis but a boundary past which, lost in light, Our friends are walking still, just out of sight. The funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev S. G. Rasmussen officiating. A short service at the home of the parents was followed by the services at the Methodist Church. A quartet, Mr. M. E. Cushing, Mrs. E. J. Mort, Mrs. Floyd Rydholm and Mr. F. L. McPherren, sang "Rock of Ages", "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Good Night and Good Morning" Among the relatives and friends from a distance who attended were the following; Mr. Clarence Spurling of Pueblo, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hemstrom of Colby, Kansas; Mrs. Minnie Carr and son, Earnest, of Fairfield; Mrs. Carl Sandberg of Nemaha and daughters of Shickley; Mr. and Mrs. Will Smith of Angus; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bruns of Sutton; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Thomas and Judge Vauck of Clay Center.
