She was born December 25, 1930, the daughter of Glenn W. and Lila Maisie (Kniesteadt) Lesslie. Deloris, the name she went by, grew up and attended school in Vermillion, Kansas. She graduated from Vermillion High School in 1948. After graduation she attended business school in Kansas City Missouri, for a couple of years. Read More	Frankfort Area News February 20, 1996 Velma Deloris Matson, 65, Vermillion, Kansas died Thursday February 8, 1996, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Kansas. She was born December 25, 1930, the daughter of Glenn W. and Lila Maisie (Kniesteadt) Lesslie. Deloris, the name she went by, grew up and attended school in Vermillion, Kansas. She graduated from Vermillion High School in 1948. After graduation she attended business school in Kansas City Missouri, for a couple of years. Deloris returned to the Vermillion area and Married Willis Dale Matson in Vermillion, Kansas on June 17, 1951. He died on July 5, 1981. Mrs. Matson was a secretary for Crane and Co. in Topeka, Kansas for a short while before returning to Vermillion. After marriage and several years of being a home maker Deloris worked away from the home once again, this time at pyramid Manufact- uring in Onaga, Kansas. Then up until her retirement she worked as a cook and Certified Nurses Aide at the Frankfort Care Home. Deloris was a member of the United Meth- odist Church in Vermillion and the United Methodist Women. She belonged to the Jolly Time Club. MI Club and the Nobel- workers EHU. She served as a broad- member to the Vermillion Library and had been membership secretary of the Vermillion United Methodist Church. She was past president of the ladies Auxiliary of the Starr- Dreher-Piercy American Legion Post No. 257, Vermillion. She served years as a community Leader to the Happy Go Lucky 4-H Club. Survivors include four sons, Tommy Matson, Joey Matson, Cory Matson, all of Vermillion, Kansas, Larry Matson, Onaga, Kansas; one brother, Orville Lesslie, Topeka, Kansas; two sisters, Dorothy Tilley, Vemillion, Kansas, Arvillemae Henderson, Meriden, Kansas; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 12, 1996, at the United Methodist Church at Vermillion, Kansas with Reverend Charles, Bernd officiating. Lola Warren organist, accompanied Maxine Bramhall, Daisy Schober and Betty Wenzl vocalist. Pallbearers were Lloyd Wenzl, Allan Williams, Larry Jacobson, Dennis Wanklyn Donald Honig and Mike Barnes. Burial was in Vermillion Cemetery, Vermillion, Kansas.
