Mrs Wheat had also been a cook for Howard Johnson Company at the Turnpike restaurant near Emporia, before she retired. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 7 to 8 o'clock. Velma H. Lamb, daughter of Clarence and Minnie Proehl Lamb, was born Feb. 14, 1915 at Bushong. She married Leslie Wheat at Yates Center on Jun. 3, 1937 and he survives. Mr. Wheat's home address is 1609 East 38th, Kansas City, Mo. Ohter survivors are two sons, Leslie H. Wheat of Ottawa and Warren Wheat of Independence; a sister, Lucile Kelsey of Chanute; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. [:CR:]
