Funeral services for Mrs. Roudabush were held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn. Rev. David Rogula officiated. Interment was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn, IA. Velma Mae Busch Roudabush was born on a farm in Madison Township, rural Brooklyn, IA on April 20, 1914. Her parents were Ernest Addison Busch and Velma White Busch. Velma lived all of her life in the Brooklyn area. She received her education in a rural school and the Brooklyn High School. On September 7, 1932 Velma was married to Elver Homer Roudabush in Knoxville, Iowa. They were the parents of two children, Wanda and Evan. Mrs. Roudabush worked for many years as a clerk in the grocery store for the Wagners and Ron Miltenberger. Mr. Roudabush died January 17, 2005 and since Mrs. Roudabush has lived in Brooklyn Community Estates. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, UMW, Pythian Sisters and Emanon Club. Her parents, her husband, a daughter Wanda Fae McIlrath, two brothers, Harry Busch and Alvin Busch, and two sisters, Clara Gray and Ada Schnell preceded her in death. Surviving are one son Evan Roudabush and wife Kathryn of Brooklyn, IA; three grandsons, Craig McIlrath, Jeffrey Roudabush, and Michael Roudabush; and two great grandchildren, Kyle Roudabush and Jayme Roudabush.
