Mrs. Packer taught school in rural Dodge County. On Oct. 5, 1935, she married Lloyd Packer; he died on Dec. 7, 1968. They lived in Hooper until the early 1940s and then lived in Kansas and Oklahoma. Mrs. Packer taught school in rural Dodge County. On Oct. 5, 1935, she married Lloyd Packer; he died on Dec. 7, 1968. They lived in Hooper until the early 1940s and then lived in Kansas and Oklahoma. Mrs. Packer returned to Nebraska after her husband died in 1968. She worked at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln from 1968-1978. Mrs. Packer was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Lincoln, United Methodist Women at the Church, was president of Bryan Memorial Hospital Retirees Club and belonged to the Bryan Board. She is survived by a son, Robert, Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Jane Wahlgren of Lincoln, and Mary Aandahl, Lincoln; four grandchildren; two brothers, Don Fauss, Wahpeton, N.D.; Lloyd, Lincoln; and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Sohl, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Church in Lincoln. The Rev. Don Nunnally will officiate. Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in Hooper Cemetery. ____________________________________________ Provided by David Fauss Vera Packer Mrs. Vera Packer, age 67, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday at her home. She was born on May 2, 1914 in rural Washington County to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fauss (Elizabeth), she graduated from Hooper High School and taught in rural Dodge County before she was married Oct. 5, 1935 to Lloyd Packer. They lived in Hooper until the early the early 1940s when they moved to Bushton, Kansas where he was employed by Northern Natural Gas Co. In 1952 they were transferred to Beaver City, Oklahoma where they lived until 1968 when he was reassigned to Ashland, Kansas. Lloyd died on December 7, 1968 following their move to Ashland. Vera moved to Lincoln where she worked at Bryan Hospital from 1969-1979. She served as President of the Bryan Memorial Hospital Retiree Club, a member of Bryan's Board and a member of United Methodist Women at Calvary United Methodist in Lincoln. Survivors include son Robert of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters, Jane Wahlgren of Lincoln and Mary Aandahl, also of Lincoln; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Sohl of Lincoln; and two brothers, Don Fauss of Wahpeton, North Dakota and Lloyd Fauss of Lincoln. Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Lincoln followed by 3:30 graveside services at the Hooper Cemetery. Pastor Rev. Don Nunnally of Calvary officiated at the service.
