Description	:	Funeral services for Verda Ann Roth were held July 14, 1979 at 2 p.m. from the Sutphen Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Herring officiating. Casket bearers were Roy Barr, Cecil Schrader, Stanford Pelzer, Kendall Schrader, Stanley Embree, Gary Pelzer. Flower bearers were Mrs. and Mr. Max Steffen and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Schrader. Music was by Gerald Maxwell and accompanied by Mrs. Quincy Dunn. Selections were "Abide With Me" and "God Understands.” Mrs. Gerald Maxwell was in charge of the registry. Verda Ann Roth, daughter of Lauren and Maggie Evens Mullen, was born in Cass County, Iowa January 20, 1913 and passed away at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa on July 12, 1979 at the age of 66 years. She grew to womanhood in the Cass County area receiving her education in the Sunnyside School and graduated from High School in Grant, Iowa. On November 24, 1938 she was married to Allen Roth who passed away in 1967 in Des Moines, Iowa and after Al's death she continued to live and work in Des Moines until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, and mother and one sister, Jennie Pelzer. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Guy (Lucile) Embree of Grant, Iowa, and Mrs. Henry (Gladys) Schrader of Guss, Iowa and may nieces, nephews, and many friends.
