Mr. Johansen was born April14, 1923, to George J. and Anna(Torske) Johansen in Keene. He moved with his family to the Heartwell area at a young age. He graduated from Heartwell High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On Jan. 6, 1945, he married Bernardine Billesbach. They lived and farmed on the family farm near Heartwell. He also worked at Minden Beef.He was a member of the Kearney County Historical Society, Minden American Legion Post No. 94, the Holdrege Elks and the Heartwell School Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife; four sons, D. Arnie of Lincoln, Bruce of Heartwell, Vance of Lexington and Mark of Norman; one daughter, Sheila Anderson of Hildreth; one brother, Lawrence of Kansas City, Kan.; three sisters, Lois Shiers of Gibbon, Verla Steiner of Inavale and Viola Sinsel ofMinden; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
