Deceased is a brother, William, who died in infancy. He retired from the former Avco New Idea plant, Coldwater, and was a longtime auctioneer. He currently was serving as a village council member in North Star. A charter member of the North Star Fire Department, he had served as chief for 41 years. A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific and earned a Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Greenville. He also was a member and past commander of the North Star American Legion Post. Funeral Mass was at the church, the Rev. David Zink, officiating.
