Mrs.Snyder was taken sick on August 12, but despite medical attention and loving care, her life could not be saved. The baby daughter died two days after and was placed in the casket with her mother. The whole neighbourhood mourns in sympathy with the bereaved family. The deceased was the wife of Ira Snyder and was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hyson of Simpson's Corner. She was 39 years of age, and lived all her life in this community, where she will be rememberd for her loving devotion to husband and children. Left to mourn their loss are her husband; eight children, father and mother, and one sister, Mrs. Leona Zwicker. The children are Irene, Mrs.Garfield Emino, Simpson's Corner; Roland, Marion, Russell, Maxine, Bryden, Shirley Ann, Allen, living at home. Two other children died in infancy. A sister, Nancy, Mrs. Willis Acker, predeceased her about ten years ago. The funeral services were conducted by Rev .Wilfred Myra, Lutheran minister from New Germany, at the church in Simpson's Corner, who gave an inspiring and comforting message to a large gathering of relatives and friends. The hymns sung were "The Old Rugged Cross," "Shall We Gather at the River," and "God Be With You Till we Meet Again." The pall-bearers were Cecil Tufts, Charlie Joudrie, Dennis Naas, Ellard Simpson, Gafield Conrad, and Robbie Emino. The deceased and baby daughter were laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery at Simpson's Corner. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
