Verna Lillian Jonason Schramm was born on July 8, 1919 in Huron, South Dakota. She was the second of three daughters born to J.M. and Olga Jonason. Verna spent her childhood years in Huron. Read More	Verna Schramm, age 92, of Winner, South Dakota, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Winner Regional Healthcare Center, in Winner, South Dakota. Verna Lillian Jonason Schramm was born on July 8, 1919 in Huron, South Dakota. She was the second of three daughters born to J.M. and Olga Jonason. Verna spent her childhood years in Huron. She graduated from Huron High School in 1936 and from Huron College in 1940. She taught school in Sinai, South Dakota for one year, White Lake, South Dakota for two years and then taught in Tyndall, South Dakota until she got married. She married Walter Schramm on December 12, 1943 in Huron and they were blessed with 66 years of marriage. To this union two sons were born: Jeffrey and Thomas. Walter and Verna moved to Winner in 1946, where they founded Schramm Furniture. Verna was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide and Trinity Lutheran Choir. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards in her Bridge Club. Verna is survived by two sons: Jeff (Sharon) Schramm and Tom (Bobbe) Schramm all of Winner, SD. She is also survived by four grandsons: John, Mike (Rayette), Scott (Leslie) and Barry (Haley); one granddaughter, Holly (Heath) Eggleston. She has three great-grandchildren: Erica, Isaac and Alex. She is also survived by one sister, Marilyn Gronlund and one sister-in-law, Lois (Russell) Reed and many nieces and nephews. Verna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; one sister, Velma Billington and her husband Les; and one brother-in-law, Arden Gronlund.
