Description	:	Verna Nannie Cedergren was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Swedish Immigrant parents, Walter Erick Cedergren and Anna Sophia (Anderson) Cedergren. They moved to Audubon, MN for a few years. While there, her sisters Edlyn and Alice were born. Verna told of traveling to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to see a fair and what fun it was. She also remembered traveling to the neighbor's farms, where everyone gathered for playing cards or raising a barn, while the many children had fun playing. Read More	Verna Nannie Cedergren was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Swedish Immigrant parents, Walter Erick Cedergren and Anna Sophia (Anderson) Cedergren. They moved to Audubon, MN for a few years. While there, her sisters Edlyn and Alice were born. Verna told of traveling to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to see a fair and what fun it was. She also remembered traveling to the neighbor's farms, where everyone gathered for playing cards or raising a barn, while the many children had fun playing. She said those were some of her fondest memories. Verna's parents loaded up their belongs and timber and headed to the Coleharbor, North Dakota, area to homestead. Verna went to school in a one room school house and taught after she graduated. She rode a horse to the one room school house that she taught in. She met her husband, Ernest Winn, and they had six children together (Willis (Billy), LaVerne, Marianna, Richard, Kenneth and Kathleen. Verna and Ernest lived on a farm that was taken when the Garrison Diversion flooded their farmland near Lake Audubon. They then lived on the outskirts of Coleharbor, where Ernest continued to farm. Verna made a wonderful carrot cake that was to die for! She had a water pump in her kitchen for water, and a can in the basement for when it was to cold to go outside to the outhouse. Verna had 30 grandchildren who often came with their parents to meet by the lake for picnics and fishing. During the winter, they met at the small house and would have the grandchildren playing games in the basement. Verna was a kind and gentle grandmother and is missed by everyone who ever knew her.
