Mr. Napier was born July 14, 1934 in Pittsburg, Kansas the son of William O. and Tracie Bartello Napier. Vernon was a retired construction worker from 1974 to 1991 and later worked for Phil's Ornamental Iron and Unique Metals until his retirement. He married Barbara Jane Stout on March 29, 1952 at Huntsville, Arkansas. Together they had four children Vernon, Terry, Delores, and Patrick.... Mr. Napier was born July 14, 1934 in Pittsburg, Kansas the son of William O. and Tracie Bartello Napier. Vernon was a retired construction worker from 1974 to 1991 and later worked for Phil's Ornamental Iron and Unique Metals until his retirement. He married Barbara Jane Stout on March 29, 1952 at Huntsville, Arkansas. Together they had four children Vernon, Terry, Delores, and Patrick. He later married Lois Stroud and they later divorced. He was a member of the Cherokee Holiness Church. Survivors include a daughter, Delores Herman of Girard, two sons Terry Napier and his wife Jeanne of Foxtown and Patrick Napier and his wife Teena of McCune, and daughter-in-law, Sabra Napier of Wichita, a grandson, Kurt Napier who helped provide for his care, five sisters, Ilene Turner, Wanda Endicott, Margaret McGuire, Tracie Miller, and Jeanie Culp, two brothers, Harold Napier and Allen Napier, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Vernon O. Napier, two grandchildren Grace Napier and Tanner Slagle, and a son-in-law, Dale Herman. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Pastor Brandon Pearce officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Bedene Chapel where friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday.
