Description	:	After an illness lasting since June 28, 1917, Vernon Losure was summoned by death on January 15, 1918 at a hospital in Omaha, where he has been taking treatment. Vernon Losure was born at Millerboro October 4, 1894 and had resided in Creighton practically all of his lifetime. About eight months ago, he was temporarily employed in a neighboring town. He was taken sick with pneumonia at his home, which later developed into an abscess of the liver and then he was removed to the Omaha hospital for treatment and had since been bedfast in that institution. Vernon Losure was born at Millerboro October 4, 1894 and had resided in Creighton practically all of his lifetime. About eight months ago, he was temporarily employed in a neighboring town. He was taken sick with pneumonia at his home, which later developed into an abscess of the liver and then he was removed to the Omaha hospital for treatment and had since been bedfast in that institution. He underwent several surgical operations and maintained wonderful vitality and endured exceptionally well the vicissitudes of his lingering illness. "Bob", as he was familiarly called, was strictly a Creighton boy and engaged in all manly sports with his companions at all times. Many were his friends, who from time to time visited him, encourage him and inquired about him during his time of suffering and, so too, his many friends mourn the loss of a companion, whom they respected. He is survived by his father, mother and one sister, who have the sympathy of many friends in the hour of bereavement. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Episcopal church. Rev. Crickmire of Niobrara will conduct the services.
