Losure Expires Suddenly Final Summons Came At His Home Wednesday Evening, November 27th. The Community was saddened on Wednesday evening, November 27, when word was passed that Wilson J. Losure had expired suddenly while doing chores that evening at his home. He had been about his work as usual during the day and the end came without warning. His death was attributed to heart trouble. Wilson J. Losure was born on May 15, 1857 near Independence, Iowa and passed from this life at the family home in Creighton, Nebr. on Wednesday evening, November 27, 1929 at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 12 days. On March 23, 1892 he was married to Miss Orie Dell Millhouse, who with one daughter, Eunice, now Mrs. E.A. Hans of Elgin, Nebr. survives him, the one son, Vernon W. born to this union, dying January 15, 1918 at the age of 23 years. Other relatives who mourn his departure are a granddaughter, Francis Hans, one brother, Frank L. of Ord, Nebr and four sisters, Mrs. Frank Waite of Medford, Oregon; Mrs. F.H. Jones, Wayne, Nebr.; Mrs. E.A. Dunn of Peru, Ill. and Mrs. Harriet Gipe, who was being cared for in her brother's home at the time of his death. In the spring of 1879 with his father and brother-in-law, Mr. Losure crossed the plains in a covered wagon from Independence, Ia. to Bazile Mills, later moving to Millerboro, where he homesteaded the quarter section now owned by his nephew, J.H. Beckley. During his pioneer life of the early 80's he served as a freighter in the employ of George A. Brooks, following the wagon trails from the Black Hills and Yankton, S.D. to the store at Bazile Mills. To him also fell the experience of digging the second grave in Millerboro cemetery and helping to erect the Millerboro church. Throughout these vicissitudes he was ever recognized as a friend in time of need. The spring of 1899 the family moved to its present home, where Mr. Losure has since been actively engaged in house moving, having returned from the work in his usual health Wednesday afternoon when the final summons came. Wilson Losure lived his life without pretense, a devoted husband, a loving father, a man among men. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon in the Episcopal church by Rev. L.W. Gramley of Norfolk. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the local cemetery beside those of his son, who preceded him in death. The large concourse of sympathetic friends, the many and beautiful floral offerings attested the esteem in which the deceased was held by his fellowmen.
