Peary Wilson officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Ernest Bowyor VFW Post No. 791 of Yankton. Pallbearers are: Jeff Branaugh, Greg Branaugh, Rick Branaugh, Clifford Hrdlicka, Gary Hrdlicka and Bill Cressy. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday until the hour of service at the funeral home. Mr. Cressy was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Cedar County, Neb. He moved to Yankton at an early age and grew up in the Yankton area, attending Yankton Public Schools. He worked at Cottonwood Packaging Company before enlisting in the U. S.Army on April 25, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minn. He served as a PFC in Company A, I 119th Armored Engineering Battalion. He received an honorable discharge on Dec. 7, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wis. On Feb.15, 1941, he married Lula Mae Branaugh in Hartington, Neb. Mr. Cressy returned to work at Cottonwood Manufacturing in Yankton as a saw mill operator. He then was employed by Morgan Manufacturing until 1983 when he retired due to a disability. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Yankton, and of the Ernest Bowyer VFW Post No.791, Yankton. Mr. Cressy is survived by his wife, Yankton; three sons: Ronald L. Cressy, Morgan Hill, Calif.; James V. Cressy, Yankton; and Daniel L Cressy, Yankton; five grand-daughters and three grandsons; one sister, Gladys Wright, Yankton. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Lawrence Cressy and Lloyd Cressy, and Raymond in infancy.
