Read More	OBITUARY: Veronica Kubicek - reprinted from the March 10, 1947 Howard County Times and Cresco Plain Dealer Veronica Kubicek was born Feb. 11, 1857 in Bohemia, where she lived until she reached the age of 10 years. She then came to America with her parents and lived near Calmar, IA. At the age of 24 years she was united in marriage with John Kubicek. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Kubicek lived on a farm in Howard County near Lime Springs. Six children were born to this union, four sons and two daughters. Mr. Kubicek died in 1927 (sic) and one son, Joseph, died in 1942. Mrs. Kubicek had her home with Joseph and after his death she went to live with her daughter, Agnes, where she was tenderly cared for until her death on March 7, 1947. SURVIVING: Left to mourn hare her three sons and two daughters, John, Frank and William, Mrs. Agnes Kotosky of Austin, Minn., and Mrs. Mary Faltisek (sic) of Ellsworth, Wis. She has one brother, Albert Dvorak of Cresco, 18 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Peckosh Funeral Home in Cresco Saturday afternoon, march 8, and burial was in the cemetery at Saratoga. The Rev. Hornicek officiated. Pallbearers were Frank Prochaska, Harry Hunter, John Bilek, Joe Miller, James Hosky and Frank Drtina. CARD OF THANKS: We wish to extend our most sincere and heartfelt thanks for the kindness and sympathy shown us by relatives and friends at the time of the death of our mother.
