Veronica Katheryn Hamers was born on April 10, 1926 in Minot, ND a daughter of Harry and Emily (Huebschwerlen) Hamers. She was raised and educated in Minot, ND, where she graduated from Minot High School in 1944. She furthered her education by attending Minot State for one year. On September 17, 1946, Ronni was united in marriage to Gerald Callahan in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where their four children, Peggy, Patricia, Michael and Timothy were born. Veronica Katheryn Hamers was born on April 10, 1926 in Minot, ND a daughter of Harry and Emily (Huebschwerlen) Hamers. She was raised and educated in Minot, ND, where she graduated from Minot High School in 1944. She furthered her education by attending Minot State for one year. On September 17, 1946, Ronni was united in marriage to Gerald Callahan in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where their four children, Peggy, Patricia, Michael and Timothy were born. Gerald passed away in December of 1981. On January 29, 1983, Ronni was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Cook in Minot. Over the years Ronni has worked for the City Assessor's office, Bishop Ryan Catholic School, and General Trading Company. Bob passed away in May of 2007. Ronni was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Auxiliary, Bishop Ryan Board of Regents and Souris Valley Ladies Golf group since 1980. Community service was very important to her and she volunteered at the Norsk Hostfest, Trinity Guest House, Second Story and the Food Pantry. She enjoyed wintering for 17 years in Texas, traveling, reading, shopping, and golfing. Ronni is survived by: Children: Peggy Nathan, Fargo, ND, Patricia Jaynes, Colorado Springs, CO; Michael (Kim) Callahan, Downers Grove, IL, Timothy Callahan, Minneapolis, MN; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; step children: ; Connie (Chuck) Shaw of Merrit Island, FL, Kathy (John) Warberg of Loon Lake, ND, Chuck (Julie) Cook of Albuquerque, NM, Becky Zahn of Phoenix, AZ, John (Barb) Cook of Williston, ND, Mary (Rick) Rauschenberger of Minot, ND, Cindy (Dave) Romine of Bismarck, ND, Bernadette Cook of Phoenix, AZ, and Lisa Cook of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Ronni was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Gerald and Bob, step son Michael Cook and a brother Jack Hamers. Visitation: Friday, July 26, 2013 from 4-7 at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot Vigil Prayer Service: Friday, July 26, 2013 at 7 pm in Thompson Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot Graveside service: Saturday at 1 pm in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Second Story of Minot, or the Bishop Ryan Hogan Society Heritage Fund.
