He died Tuesday, July 27, 1999 in Gridley, California. He was born June 21, 1920. He attended Gridley Schools and graduated from Live Oak High School. He died Tuesday, July 27, 1999 in Gridley, California. He was born June 21, 1920. He attended Gridley Schools and graduated from Live Oak High School. He married Mildred Johanna Thomsen on September 7, 1940. After the war, he farmed until 1953. He then worked for Speckle Sugar Co., and managed apartments in the Sacramento and Stockton areas. He was maintenance superintendent until he retired due to bad health. He moved to Gridley in 1981. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Gridley 1st Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Emma Asbury; four brothers, Joe, Cameron, Bill and George; and four sisters, Estella, Ethel, Odus and Ada. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred, of Gridley, California; one son, Jess of Live Oak, California; two daughters, Martha and Betty, both of Berry Creek, California. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church in the Relief Society room. Interment will be at Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak, California. Arrangements are under the direction of Sorensen's Affordable Mortuaries-Chico-Gridley. The Gridley Herald Wednesday, July 28, 1999
