Kothe Funeral services for Mrs. Vilda Cinderella Kothe, age 94, of Watertown, South Dakota, formerly of the Bryant and Grover area, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2002 in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, South Dakota. Rev. Fred Rosin will officiate. Mrs. Kothe passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at a local care center. She was the widow of Peter Kothe. Kothe Funeral services for Mrs. Vilda Cinderella Kothe, age 94, of Watertown, South Dakota, formerly of the Bryant and Grover area, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2002 in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, South Dakota. Rev. Fred Rosin will officiate. Mrs. Kothe passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at a local care center. She was the widow of Peter Kothe. Burial will be in the Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery, Bryant, South Dakota. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her friends and relatives. Active pallbearers will be Vilda's grandchildren: Allan Spilde, Myron Spilde, Shawn Spilde, Aaron Kothe, Sherry Elmore, Kevin Elmore and Kaye Elmore. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, South Dakota, on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday preceding services at the chapel. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. for a prayer service. Vilda was born on March 11, 1908 near Bryant, South Dakota, to James and Pearl (Miller) Hoffman. She attended country school and graduated from Bryant High School. On September 11, 1929, Vilda married Peter H. Kothe. The couple lived and farmed by Bryant until 1941 when they moved to a farm near Grover and then to Watertown in 1966. She was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Bryant. Vilda enjoyed dancing, playing cards, fishing, gardening and making crafts. She mostly enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vilda is survived by one son, Wayne Kothe, of Watertown, South Dakota; two daughters: Corrine and her husband, Glenn Elmore, of South Shore, South Dakota, and lone and her husband, Kermit Spilde, of Watertown, South Dakota; one brother, Robert, and his wife, Nadine Hoffman, of California; one sister, Lorraine Hanson, of California; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Abby, Ashley and Alex Elmore and Reilley and Fisher Spilde. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Arthur Hoffman, and three sisters: Vera Carstensen, Agnes Pierce and Esther Hoffman.
