Description	:	Vinita Florence (Schrock) Buettgenbach went to be with her Lord & Savior Sunday, June 13, 2021, at her home surrounded by all her children at the age of 87 years. Read More	Vinita Florence (Schrock) Buettgenbach went to be with her Lord & Savior Sunday, June 13, 2021, at her home surrounded by all her children at the age of 87 years. Vinita Florence Schrock was born on June 26, 1933, at home in rural Seldon, KS, the daughter of Glen Adison Schrock and Sylvia May (Crabill) Schrock. She was one of ten children. She often spoke of the happy times growing up in a large family, always having someone to play with, or the memories of getting together with the neighbors on Sunday to play softball and having homemade ice cream. Vinita married Junior Jerry Buettgenbach on April 1, 1950, in Russell Springs, KS, to this union they had seven children. Junior worked for the Rock Island Railroad which took them to several places of residence in Kansas, Colorado, Iowa and in 1962 their final home in Lebanon, KS. Junior passed away September 1, 1995. Vinita worked as a telephone operator, cooked at the Lebanon Schools, worked for Jim's Hardware and C&R Supply, but being a homemaker with seven children was a full time job. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, school sports, chaperoning school dances and other events, and there was always enough food to set another place at the table for friends who were invited before asking if it was alright. Vinita was a very active member in the community, city council, and Hub Club. She helped to maintain the park at the center, over sixty and music club. She was an active member in the United Methodist Church, having many responsibilities in the church and UMW. Her love of music led her to singing in the choir and playing the bells. In her early 80's she learned to play a Q-cord and would play for specials at church and over sixty. Embroidering quilt blocks and helping the quilting group make quilts to raffle at the UMW Bazaar was a craft she really enjoyed. Her greatest love was her family and hosting many holiday and family dinners, she even talked about having a 4th of July get together with fireworks and homemade ice cream just weeks before her health turned for the worse. Having morning coffee, eating lunch and wrapping silverware at LaDow's was a big part of her day. Playing cards with her friends, sometimes till the early hours in the morning was a special joy to her. Sometimes she would choose cards with the girls over a family get together. After her health started to fail, she often spoke of how she missed the card games and needed to get the girls together. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Junior, son Melvin LeRoy Buettgenbach, parents Glen and Sylvia Schrock, brothers Clair Schrock, Harold (Gladys) Schrock, Maurice Schrock, Gary Schrock, sisters, Maurine (Edward) Yeager, Eldine (Robert) Neal, Bonavee (Robert) Fike and an infant sister Helen Mae Schrock, daughter-in-law Dee (Sobree) Buettgenbach, and mother and father-in-law Elsie and Roy Buettgenbach. Vinita is survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Dave) Wahl, Brenda Deibert, Virgina Kay (Mike) Baetz; three sons, Ray Buettgenbach, Steven (Val) Buettgenbach, Brian (Tiffany) Buettgenbach; eleven grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren and one on the way and six great great grandchildren and one on the way; brother Phillip (Marilyn) Schrock, sisters-in-law Sharlene Schrock and Shirley Schrock, brothers-in-law Soloman (Thelma) Buettgenbach, Gene (Retha) Buettgenbach and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the United Methodist Church, 300 Main St., Lebanon, KS, with Pastor Less Ellis officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS 66967. Burial will take place in Sweet Home Cemetery, Lebanon, KS. Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or The Hub Club designated for the Center Chapel and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
