Baker, 70 years old, 913 East Michigan street, a lifelong resident of Wabash county died Saturday night at 10:55 o'clock in the Wabash County hospital. She was taken to the hospital on Wednesday. Death was due to coronary occlusion. She was born in North Manchester on June 27, 1878, the daughter of Abraham and Harriett (Farley) Strickler. On April 29, 1895, she was married to Andrew Baker, who survives. To this union were born 15 children, 10 of whom survive. They are Ralph J., Luther and Hubert Baker, Mrs. Mary Hipskind and Mrs. Violetta Sailors, all of Wabash; Mrs. Beryle Christman and Mrs. Gladys Spath, both of North Manchester; Wayne Baker, Muncie; Fred I, Columbus, O.; and Nathan Baker, Los Angeles, Calif; a brother, Albert Strickler, North Manchester; two sisters, Mrs. Horace Bedford, Anderson, and Mrs. Asbury Krom, North Manchester, and 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She became a member of the North Side Evangelical United Brethren church at the age of 12. The body was taken to the Wire Funeral home and has been removed to the Michigan street residence where friends may call. Owing to the fact that the husband is an invalid, short services will be conducted in the family residence Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Then the body will be taken to the North Side church where it may be viewed until 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the time for the regular services. The Rev. Harvey Fruith, Ossian, and the Rev. Flossie Farley, Wabash will offiate and burial will be in Falls cemetery.
