She was born March 12, 1919, in Faribault, Minn., to Oscar Eugene and Hilma Anderson Taylor. She married Carl Grant on June 13, 1936. He preceded her in death in December 1942. She married Harold V. McCall on March 12, 1943, in Lancaster, Mo. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1990. Viola attended Pennsylvania Ave. Free Methodist Church. She was an avid gardner. Surviving are her children, David (Carol) McCall of Bloomfield, Albert (Kathy) McCall of Floris. Ted McCall of Ottumwa and Wanda (Duane) Prose of Pilot Point, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Florence Tetmeyer of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debra McCall; two brothers, Raymond DeFord and James DeFord; five sisters, Blanche Howard, Opal Rupe, Sylvia Dunham, Hattie Anderson and Edna Bower. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Bill Payne officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice or Hospice serving Wapello & Davis Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
