Sylvia Dunham was born August 18, 1914, Faribault, Minn.,to Oscar and Hilma Anderson Taylor. She married Frank Bower; he died. She married Berle Dunham in June 1965; he died in December 1971. She is survived by three sons, Robert Bower of Bloomfield, Frank Bower of Pleasant Hill and James Bower of Ottumwa; three daughters, Frances Jean Meyer of Ottumwa, Patricia Bower of Bloomfield, Frank Bower of Pleasant Hill and James Bower of Ottumwa; three daughters, Frances Jean Meyer of Ottumwa, Patricia Kelso Reed of Ottumwa and Connie Johnson of Pittsfield, Ill.; 27 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bill Z. Davis. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Baber; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Opal Rupe, Hattie Anderson and Blanche Howard; and two brothers, Raymond and James DeFord. The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Milton Forbes officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home with family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
